The femoral shafts are distinguished by the fact that the stems 1a to 16a of the shafts 1 to 16 are established according to a homothetic progression of all the dimensions within the one same series and on the basis of a reference face formed by the inner narrow edges 1e to 16e of the stems; the dimensions of the lower part of the stems are superposed for some shafts in the range; the dimensions of the conical bearing surfaces 1c to 16c are determined in such a way as to receive semispherical heads of various diameters. <IMAGE>
