An arrangement to purify waste gases from solid particles, which are generated when burning candles, comprising a candle mounting plate whereby: 1) a hood is located above the candle mounting plate which overlaps that plate, 2) a protection plate is arranged inside the hood having a central passage (9), 3) a ventilation is fitted above passage (9), 4) a frame (6) enclosing the ventilation whose top end is sealed by an interchangeable gas-permeable filter (8). The frame is open on all sides above the filter, or only on two sides. USE - The arrangement can be used for the removal of solid particulate matter from the waste gases of candles in a church.
