PURPOSE:To discharge undesired electric charge in a short time by applying field storage operation from release to an optional time and restoring the operation to a normal frame storage. CONSTITUTION:A power supply is rised for a solid-state image pickup element 4 and a recording means 6 from a shutter release operation and field storage (an electric charge readout signal is given to both odd and even fields) is implemented for a period till the exposure start to the solid-state image pickup element 4 and the frame storage operation is applied for a prescribed time. Thus, the discharge of undesired charge (especially, charge discharge of the photodetector) in the solid-state image pickup element 4 is implemented in a short time till the exposure start from the release thereby reducing a time lag from the release till the exposure start. |
