The invention relates to a prosthetic component which is suitable for cementless anchorage and possesses an anchorage portion that fills the bone cavity in a manner adapted to the shape of the latter (cf. Fig. 1, 2, 3), and a portion which projects from the bone cavity and is provided for attachment of further prosthetic components (e.g. femoral head) (cf. Fig. 1, 2, 3). At the same time, there are embodiments which have dowel-like, spreadable bodies and spreading bodies (cf. Fig. 1, 2) and another embodiment (cf. Fig. 3) in which the spreading body (cf. Fig. 2) itself is suitable as a load-bearing anchorage component (Fig. 3). By shaping the prosthetic components and by selecting the material properties thereof it is intended that the forces and movements acting upon the bone can be largely reduced to a magnitude below the tolerance threshold. For this purpose, shock-absorbing resilient elements and elastic damping elements, respectively, are fitted in and/or on the prosthetic components, so that the force can be transmitted into the bone as homogeneously as possible and in a manner adapted to suit the respective local conditions in the bone. <IMAGE>
