A cabinet for containing cooking appliances such as a microwave oven having a cooking chamber having a front opening (4a), a door (5) for closing the front opening (4a) of the cooking chamber, a locking mechanism for locking the door (5) at a closed position, and a manually operated member (8a) mounted in the vicinity of the front opening (4a) of the microwave oven for manually unlocking the door (5) locked by the locking mechanism is disclosed. The cabinet includes a compartment (2) for containing the cooking appliance, a cover (14) for concealing a space between the front inner periphery of the compartment (2) and the front outer periphery of the cooking appliance, the cover (14) having a recess (26) formed therein so as to correspond to the manually operated member (8a) so that the manually operated member (8a) is positioned in the recess (26), the recess (26) having a front opening, and a closure member (27) rotatably mounted on the cover (14) so as to close and open the front opening of the recess (26). |
