As a noise protection measure for railway rails it is proposed to provide sound-insulating elements (144) which are fastened to the rail (4) and run continuously in the longitudinal direction of the rail. These insulating elements can be fixed by means of clamping strips (164), with prestress, on bolts (160) formed on the rail web (16), the clamping strips (164) engaging behind the bolt heads (162). The insulating elements can thus be mounted on the rail in a simple way and can be easily dismounted for maintenance work and then reused. <IMAGE>
