Low flammability polyester sewing thread

Described is a low flammability sewing thread composed of polyester fibres which have been provided with a spin finish. In this sewing thread, the polyester fibres consist of low flammability linear polyesters, dicarboxylic acid and diol components. The spin finish contains 40 to 90%, preferably 60 to 80%, of an aryl or alkyl phosphate and 10 to 60%, preferably 20 to 40%, of a silicone oil. This sewing thread is toxicologically safe despite its flame resistance, and is notable for good sewing properties.
