<p>PURPOSE: To improve the heat transfer rate of a cable by forming the cable from a positive-temperature-coefficient polymer material placed outside so as to fill a conductor space and to seal the conductor and generating heat when a current passes through the inside. CONSTITUTION: Flat conductors 22, 24 are sealed inside a uniform matrix of a PTC conductive polymer material 26. Thereafter, an insulating layer 28 is imparted in order to protect a heating cable C1 from the surroundings, and further a certain outside braided body 30 and a protective overjacket 32 are provided. Since the conductors 22, 24 have lower heat resistance than the polymer material 26, they guide a substantially higher heating value more easily than the polymer material 26. Therefore, a large amount of heat is conducted from the polymer material 26 and more uniformly distributed along the length and width of the heating cable C1, enabling high power to be generated.</p> |
