摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain favorable printing quality free of formation of voids in image areas even on a rough paper and without any lowering in image fixation properties or any lowering in performance with time by either incorporating compressed minute hollow elements of a shape memory resin in a heat-fusible ink layer on a base, or providing an intermediate layer comprising the minute hollow elements between the ink layer and the base. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible ink layer 2 is provided on the upper side of a base 1, and compressed minute hollow elements 3 of a shape memory resin are incorporated in the ink layer 2. At the time of transferring, part of the minute hollow elements 3 is transferred onto a recording paper simultaneously with an ink, and the elements 3 are expanded into an original spherical shape thereof by heating at the time of transferring. As a result, even when a rough paper is used as the recording paper, the ink is caused to penetrate into recessed parts of the surface of the paper, and favorable printing quality free of formation of voids in image areas can be obtained. In addition, image fixation properties are excellent, and the printed matter is stable with time. Alternatively, an intermediate layer 4 comprising the minute hollow elements 3 may be provided between the ink layer 2 and the base 1. In this case, the elements 3 are not transferred onto a transferred image, so that the surface of the image is smooth. The shape memory resin may be polynorbornene, transpolyisoprene or the like.
