PURPOSE:To feed cool air effectively and make dwellers feed refreshing even in energy-saving space-cooling operation of an air conditioner, by producing conical peripheral air flows and vertical air flows intermittently, and thereby blowing cool air efficiently to dwellers in a room even if the space in the room is fairly large. CONSTITUTION:An intermittent air outlet opening 1 is constituted by an air outlet cone 6 which consists of a cylindrical section 4 to be fitted to a duct arranged in the ceiling and a conical section 5 opened in a room to be air-conditioned and connected to the cylindrical section 4 in a unitary manner. Further, there is provided a stationary plate 9 having an inwardly bent marginal portion 8 where the plate 9 is fitted in an oulet opening 7 of the conical section 5. The plate 9 is formed with peripheral openings 10 obtained by cutting away the peripheral portion of the plate 9 in a sector form at four positions located equidistantly from each other and central openings 11 also shaped in a sector form and located at intermediate positions between each two opening 10. A disk-shaped rotatable plate 16 formed with openings 15 mating with the central openings 11 is turned at a low speed. When the openings 15 are registered with the openings 11, air is issued vertically downward from the openings 11. On the other hand, when the openings 11 are closed by the plate 16, air is blown off from the openings 10 in a conical form. |
