A composite, gas-permeable membrane (13) and a method for producing the membrane comprising polypropylene material (14) (preferably tubular) joined with block copolymer silicone rubber (15) material is disclosed. The composite, gas-permeable membrane (13) is made by dipping the polypropylene material (14) into a solution of block copolymer silicone rubber material (15) in a solvent which slowly evaporates once the substrate is removed from solution upon completion of dipping.
