PURPOSE:To improve the heat exchange efficiency and reduce the pressure loss by setting the ratio of the sectional area of an inlet side path group to that of an outlet side path group at a particular ratio. CONSTITUTION:The refrigerant flowing from an upper inlet 6 of a header pipe 3 exchanges heat with the air flowing through the air flow paths including clearances of corrugated fins 2 furnished between tubes 1 while passing through path groups A, B and C. The outlet side path group C is designed to have a sectional area of 30 - 60% of that of the inlet side path A. The refrigerant passing through the inlet side path group A is still in gas state and has a large volume, however, the path group A has a sufficient heat transfer area correspondingly, so that the refrigerant condenses efficiently and the pressure loss is also small. As the refrigerant passing through the intermediate path group B to the outlet path group C is already liquefied and has a relatively small volume, the outlet side path group C is designated to have a corresponding small sectional area, so that a sufficient amount of heat exchange is carried out while the refrigerant passes through the path group C with a small pressure loss. |
