The apparatus for positioning and locking a seat backrest frame on a seat frame automatically mounted in a vehicle, in which the rear ends of the seat frame concerned comprise fixing elements, is characterised in that each fixing element, which can be mounted on a mechanism (1) for the adjustment of the inclination of the backrest, is formed from a housing (2) which is shaped to receive a blade (20) fixed to each of the lower ends of the backrest frame, this blade (20) being held in position in the housing (2) concerned by jamming with the aid of a piece constituted by a central roller (24) which is grooved in its centre and comprises laterally smooth extensions of small diameters, allowing the roller to rotate idly in openings provided in the housing (2) so as to be pushed back by at least one spring (25) for the jamming of the roller in each corner of the blade (20) and of the housing (2) concerned. <IMAGE> |
