NEW MATERIAL:A di-substituted 2-propanol compound of formula I (X is substituted or non-substituted naphthyl; Y is substituted or non-substituted phenyl). EXAMPLE:1-(2-Naphthyloxy)-3-(4-methoxyphenoxy)-2-propanol. USE:A sensitizer for heat-sensitive recording materials exhibiting excellent coloring sensitivity and colored image stability. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I is readily prepared in a high yield by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III or reacting a compound of formula IV with a compound of formula V preferably in a chlorine-containing, ether, ester or alcoholic organic solvent preferably in the presence of a basic catalyst. |
