PURPOSE:To obtain the subject chloride useful for agricultural chemicals, etc., in high yield and with simple operation by using phosphonium salt in which anion is composed of anion other than halogen ion and reacting in the absence of water. CONSTITUTION:(A) Phosphorus trichloride is reacted with (B) phosphite triester in the presence of (C) quaternary phosphonium salt expressed by formula I (R1-R4 are 1-20C alkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl; A<-> anion other than halogen ion and in the absence of water to afford the aimed chloride expressed by formula II (R<5> is 1-20C alkyl or phenyl; R6 is R5O or Cl<->). Besides, anion A<-> in component C is preferably organic phosphate ion or organic sulfate ion. |
