<p>PURPOSE: To precisely and automatically trim a selvedge by pressing the selvedge part of a web of textile conveyed in an enlarged state onto the outer periphery part of a roll having pins by a pressing roll, and trimming and separating the pressed selvedge part by a trimming knife. CONSTITUTION: A web 1 of textile is conveyed in a tension frame by a conveying apparatus such as a pin strap and a clip, and the selvedge part of the web of the textile is pressed onto the outer periphery part of a roll 13 having pins 14 by a pressing belt 17 extending over an opposite roll 16 and the other roll 18 keeping contact with the roll 13 having the pins 14 arranged in a circular line at the neighborhood a trimming portion 15 of a trimming knife 12, and introduced to the trimming portion 15. The selvedge part of the web 1 of the textile removed from the pins 14 before the trimming is automatically returned to the pressing region between the opposite roll 16 and the roll 13 having the pins 14, and the selvedge part is trimmed and separated by the trimming knife 12 at the trimming portion 15.</p> |
