COLOR FILTER FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE:To prevent the voltage drop of an input voltage and to improve image quality by continuously bisecting only the parts in parallel with striped transparent electrodes by each of the respective lines or rows of picture elements to a stripe shape and forming one thereof of a metal having a large electrical conductivity and the other of a metal oxide or resin having a high insulating rate. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of the picture elements 2 are installed in checkerwise onto a substrate 1 and meshed black matrices 3 are installed between the respective picture elements. Only the parts of the black matrices 3 in parallel with the striped transparent electrodes 4 are continuously bisected to the stripe shape. The one thereof is formed of the metallic wiring 7 having the large electrical conductivity and the other of the resin having the high insulating rate. The metallic wiring 7 and resin 8 are formed of a material having a high light shielding property. The image quality of the large-sized liquid crystal display is improved and the cost thereof is reduced in this way.
