<p>PURPOSE:To highly speed up a file search by reading count data of positioning a medium on the tape device at the time of issuing a file search command and searching the file from a difference from a data stored in advance. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 6 is written in advance in its header part with a file name and count data, and when the tape 6 is set in the tape device 3, those data are read and stored in a count data part 9 via an interface part 13. When a file search command is issued from a processing device 1, the file name from the device 1 is sent to the data part 9 by a command processing part 8, and it is compared by the data part 9 with the stored file name to set a data value. At the same time, the data of a counter 7 are also stored in a read data part 10. Then, a difference value between the data parts 9 and 10 is evaluated and converted into a revolving value so as to drive the tape 6. By this method, the file search can be performed at high speed.</p> |
