EDITING RANGE SETTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To easily change a start or end point with no mistake by changing a setting range based on the position that is designated by a pointing device right before the change of the start or end point. CONSTITUTION:An input part 1 includes a keyboard 6 and a mouse 7. The mouse 7 contains a cursor shifting left button 8L and a range setting/changing right button 8R. An editing part 4 performs edits the data received from the part 1 and an editing key and records various character data or the picture data to a recording part 3. The part 4 also fetches an instruction from the mouse 7 for an editing range and performs the general control to set or change the editing range against a range setting part 5. The part 5 receives a command from the part 4 and sets or changes the editing range. In such a case, three different editing ranges are set and changed according to the cursor start point row position and the mouse row position where both buttons 8L and 8R of the mouse 7 are pushed.
