PURPOSE:To prevent voltage delay in discharge of a large current after storage at a high temperature or for a long time by making a separator support a condensed aromatic compound. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode 3 and a negative electrode 1 are installed through a separator 4, and a separator 4 is made up of glass fiber nonwoven fabric, and a condensed aromatic compound is supported by this separator. The condensed aromatic compound is thus supported by the separator 4 adjacent to the negative electrode 1, so that the condensed aromatic compound is eluted to an electrolyte to coarsen a halogenide film of alkali metal formed on the surface of the negative electrode 1 and this film does not grow to a fine film even after storage at a high temperature and for a long time so that a battery reaction is not prevented and also a voltage drop does not occur at the beginning of discharge. Thereby, it is possible to prevent voltage delay. |
