PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality pictures for a long period by scraping off the excessive developer which is not supplied to a developing agent carrying body from an electrifying member, but remains on the member with a scraping member having a curved surface section. CONSTITUTION:This developing device is provided with a developer housing section 29 for housing a developer 26, developer supplying member 30 rotatably supported in the section 29, electrifying means 28 which electrostatically charges the developer supplied by means of the member 30, and developer carrying body 27 which carries the developer electrified by the member 28. In addition, a layer thickness regulating member 32 which regulates the layer thickness of the developer on the developer supporting body 27 and a scraping-off member 35 which has a curved surface and scrapes off the developer stuck to the member 28 by means of the curved surface abutting on the member 28. Since the scraping-off of the developer stuck to the electrifying member 28 is performed with the curved surface of the scraping member 35, the member 28 is hardly deformed by the abutting of the scraping-off member 35 even when the member 28 is used for a long period and high-quality pictures can be obtained for a long period. |
