PURPOSE:To obtain a photograph of desired subject size by setting focal length so that photographic magnification is larger when the camera is held vertically than when the camera is held horizontally although detected object distance and set object size are equal. CONSTITUTION:A vertical/horizontal position detecting circuit 7 and a switch SW3 are connected to a CPU 1. The detecting circuit 7 detects whether the camera is held vertical or horizontal and inputs a vertical/horizontal position signal to the CPU 1. The CPU 1 sets a constant-magnification photographic mode with the switch SW3 ON. The constant-magnification mode is a mode for constant-magnification photography wherein an object is photographed with invariably specific photographic magnification regardless of an object distance detected by a distance measuring circuit 2, and the photographic magnification is set in the CPU 1 by the operation of a constant magnification photographic mode setting button. Consequently, a photograph of desired object side is taken regardless of whether the camera is held vertically or horizontally. |
