PURPOSE:To assure high strength and high conductivity by spirally winding elongated copper reinforced with particles or fibers or the like, joinning the elongated copper with each other circumferentially under high temperature and high pressure, and providing a slit along a joint surface. CONSTITUTION:A flat square elongated wire 11 comprising composite fiber- reinforced copper reinforced with inorganic, organic, and metallic fibers or comprising a copper stock into which short fibers, whiskers, and particles, etc., are blended, is spirally wound around the outer surface of a cylinder 13. This is pressurized at high temperature, and diffused and joined therebetween to form a hollow cylinder 17. A spiral slit is formed along a diffused and joinned line 18 of the cylinder for finishing. Thus, a joint surface which is deteriorated in mechanical and electrical characteristics is eliminated axially of the title coil. Hereby, a helical coil having high strength, high conductivity, and excellent machining finishing dimensional accuracy can be yielded. |
