Procedure for manufacture of a catamenial tampon. It involves: (a) forming a thread with a flow-absorbing material which has high water absorption characteristics, such as hydrophilic cotton; (b) weaving a tampon material with the thread from stage (a); (c) forming a main tampon body with the woven material obtained in stage (b); (d) compressing the body of the tampon to a bullet-like shape. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a cylindrical body formed with the tampon material. It can be used to absorb menstrual fluid.
