The invention relates to improvements to the carpentry work of doors in buildings. This carpentry work is characterised in that: - between the longitudinal free edge 12 of the strip 6 and the free narrow edge 7, 8 of the piece to which edge it is associated there is interposed at least one means 13 for, on the one hand, absorbing the displacement of the said free edge 12 about at least one axis 14 substantially parallel to the narrow edge 7, 8 in line with which the strip is associated and, on the other hand, for elastically returning the same free edge in the closure plane, - situated on the face 4 of the strip directed facing the part complementary to that supporting it, that is to say on the face located in the closure plane, there is anchored at least one element 15 projecting on the said face 4 over a predetermined thickness e, and at least over a certain height, - at least one groove 16 for accommodating the abovementioned element is formed in the part 2 receiving the bearing strip 6. <IMAGE>
