PURPOSE:To always perform stable recording and reproduction with a magnetic head device by inserting the sliding and section of the read/write core of the device into a large hole provided in the slider base of the device and, at the same time, elastically supporting the fixed end section on the opposite side by means of a gimbal spring in a fixed state. CONSTITUTION:A read/write core 1 is stuck to a gimbal spring 5 in a vertically standing state at a fixed end section 1b opposite to a sliding end section 1a. The gimbal spring 5 fitted with the magnetic head is provided with plural annular slits 6a only around the section where the core 1 is stuck so that the core 1 can move more freely by the elasticity produced by the slits 6a. In addition, a large hole 7a into which the core 1 is inserted in a projecting state is provided in a slider base 7 housing a read/write coil 2. Therefore, even when the magnetic head tilts due to the wavy surface, etc., of a recording medium, the core 1 can follow the recording medium, since the core 1 is not joined with the slider base 7 and can make free movement independently. |
