The invention relates to electronic newspapers. The object of the invention is to supply an electronic communication device with a light display, which is simple in design and inexpensive, and whose display part 40 may be fixed to supports of various shapes, and the message may be composed from a means 10 for selection of specific information elements to be displayed. This object is achieved with the aid of a one-way visual communication device characterised in that the means 10 for selection of information elements comprises a plurality of sensitive members 20 which can be actuated selectively, the said sensitive members 20 interacting with a microprogrammed instruction set, especially for triggering the display of the said specific information elements, in that the information element display 40 consists of a flexible plate 110 which is capable of being fixed to a support 100, the said plate 110 including on one of its faces means 130 for visual display of the information elements. The instruction and information memories are either removable and changeable, or fixed and reprogrammable. <IMAGE>
