PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply accommodate to every shift mode by judging a fact that a driving condition after being selected from a specific diagram chosen is included in which side of speed ranges with a range judging means, and shifting gear speeds on the basis of the judged result. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle automatic transmission (a) is set with a shift diagram dependent on at least car speed and engine load and shifts gear speeds automatically on the basis of this shift diagram. Here plural numbers of this shift diagram are set in response to each speed step, selecting a specific shift diagram conformed to the existing speed steps by a shift diagram selecting means (b), and a fact that a driving condition after being selected from this specific shift diagram chosen is included in which side of speed ranges is judged by a range judging means (c), and then a speed change is carried out on the basis of the judged result. Thus, shift control is remarkably simplified and, what is more, it is simply accommodable to every shift mode. |
