PURPOSE:To improve the excavation efficiency by positioning a center cutter at the center position of each shield excavating machine of a ganged shield excavating machine and arranging plurality of satellite cutters which are shiftable slightly onto the periphery of the center cutter. CONSTITUTION:Main cutters 2 and 2 having the less diameter than that of the excavating machines 1 and 1 are positioned at the center position of each shield machine 1 of a ganged type shield excavating machine. Then, a number of satellite cutters 3 having the outside diameter equal to the difference between the diameter of the excavating machine 1, 1 and the outside diameter of the main cutter 2, 2 are arranged on the periphery of the center cutter 2, 2, so as to be shiftable slightly along the periphery of the main cutter 2. All the cutters 2, 2 and 3 are revolved, shifting the satellite cutter 3, and all the excavation sectional surface is excavated. Therefore, the not-excavated part of the superposed part is eliminated, and each revolution speed of the cutters 2, 2, and 3 is increased, and the excavation efficiency can be improved. |
