PURPOSE:To enhance safety by constituting the title machinery so that a plurality of openable and closable lid bodies are provided and one switch is operated in connection with the opening and closing operation of a plurality of the lid bodies in common. CONSTITUTION:When a hood 2 is opened in order to replace a type wheel or an ink ribbon, a switch 5 is turned ON and the operation of a printing mechanism is prohibited. When the battery backing up the memory of a control circuit is replaced, a paper supporter 3 is necessarily closed along with the hood 2 from the aspect of the easiness of work and the switch 5 is turned ON by closing the paper supporter 3 and the operation of the printing mechanism is prohibited. Then, the hood 2 is closed and the paper supporter 3 is opened to set a use state and the switch 5 is turned ON for the first state in this state. By this method, both of the hood 2 and the paper supporter 3 are opened and closed to control the prohibition and release of the operation of the printing mechanism and the safety and operability of a typewriter can be enhanced. |
