A method for preparing a stabilised alkaline hydrogen peroxide containing bleaching bath is disclosed. Alkalimetal salts of diethylene triaminepentamethylenephosphonic acid (DTPMA) act as stabilising and bleach protecting agents. The DTPMA is added to the bath together with the hydrogen peroxide. Ready-to-use hydrogen peroxide bleaching bath solutions containing from 0,5% to 5% of DTPMA and having a pH within the 4-7 range are also described. |
