PURPOSE:To enable traveling at the time of traffic jam to be easily and safely carried out by controlling throttle valves, a transmission, a brake, or the like based on the distance between one's vehicle and the vehicle in front in the constant-distance-between-vehicles traveling mode, so that a prescribed distance between vehicles can be automatically secured. CONSTITUTION:A constant-distance-between-vehicles traveling mode is set by a switch 10. And a first throttle valve 1 is mechanically driven by an accelerator pedal, and also a second throttle valve 3 being separated from the accelerator pedal is driven by a motor 4. Further, the distance between one's vehicle and the vehicle in front is detected by a detecting device 16. And respective outputs of the switch 10 and the detecting device 16 are input into a computer unit 2 respectively. On the other hand, the outputs of the computer unit 2 are input into the motor 4, a brake control device 13, and a transmission 6 respectively. Thus, in the constant-distance-between-vehicles traveling mode, the vehicle is traveled at a speed less than a prescribed speed so as to maintain a prescribed distance between one's vehicle and the vehicle in front. |
