PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsion having increased spectral sensitivity without increasing fog by adding a specified sensitizing dyestuff and a specified telluro- ether compd. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of sensitizing dyestuff represented by formula I and at least one kind of telluro-ether compd. represented by formula II are added to a silver halide photographic sensitive emulsion. In the formula I, each of Z1 and Z2 is a group of atoms forming a 5- or 6-membered hetero ring contg. N, each of R1 and R2 is <=10C alkyl or alkenyl, each of R3 and R7 is H, each of R4-R6 is H, lower alkyl, etc., each of j and k is 0 or 1, l is 0, 1 or 2, m is 0 or 1 and X is a residue of an acid anion. In the formula II, each of L1 and L2 is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl or a heterocyclic group. The spectral sensitivity of the emulsion can be increased. |
