PURPOSE:To accurately and rapidly perform a maintenance operation for the fault of a line, etc., by providing a storage means for storing line connection information in an optical connector for connecting optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:The optical connector 1 is connected to each optical cable. When they are connected, the line connection information such as the number of each optical cable or the number of the connector 1 is stored. In a central telephone exchange 10, the line connection information on the connector 1 and an optical code 3 connected to the connector 1 or a coated optical fiber 3a is read in a computer 43 through an optical distribution frame 19 where connection corresponding to the electrode of the memory element of the connector 1 is performed and an electric input/output circuit 51 is connected to the frame 19. Thus, the connection state of the connector 1 and the optical cable is accurately identified at a real time and the rapid processing for fault restoration is reliably performed. |
