PURPOSE:To easily execute feature extraction processing by composing one picture by combining the pieces of information of plural picture memories being obtained the sharpest change state from the picture memories respectively obtained in different focus states and detecting an edge for the composed picture. CONSTITUTION:Plural focal distances are respectively set to two cameras 1 and 2, the pictures of the plural focal distances image-picked up by the two cameras 1 and 2 are stored in picture memories 41-43 and 51-53 provided correspondingly to the respectively set plural focal distances, and sharpness degrees are compared for respective parts of the pictures. Further, the parts having the highest sharpness degree are collected and made into one picture, and the feature for executing stereoscopic viewing is extracted, namely, the edge is detected, using the picture. Thus, processing in feature extracting work can be simplified. |
