Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> where R1 and R2 are hydrogen or an ether-forming group and X is hydrogen, halo, trifluoromethyl, lower alkyl, or lower akoxy, are useful intermediates for making PGE and PGF derivatives having an allenic function.
