PURPOSE:To prevent increase in the overall height of the battery due to welding after pouring-in of electrolyte by furnishing a recess having a cylindrical part at the bottom of a battery jar, using this cylindrical part as an electrolyte pour-in hole, and thereafter inserting a sealing pin to be followed by welding of the foremost part. CONSTITUTION:In the center of the bottom 5b of a battery jar 5 a recess 12 is provided having a bottom on the battery inside and also having a cylindrical part 12a in the central part, whose tip faces to outside the battery and is situated innermore the battery than the main surface of the jar bottom 5b. After the electrolyte is poured in using this cylindrical part 12a as electrolyte pour-in hole, a sealing pin 13 is inserted in this cylindrical part 12a. Then the head of the pin 13 is welded to the tip of the cylindrical part 12a. This constitution will eliminate generation of defect in the overall height of the battery resulting from welding operation. |
