CONSTITUTION:When connecting component picture data are inputted to a shape feature storing part 11, the part 11 extracts and stores the feature of the shape, and a collating part 12 collates the feature of a previously given connecting component sample with the feature of the picture data stored in the shape feature storing part 11 and selects the sample having the feature most coincident with that of the picture data as an object sample. Next, a connecting component to coincide with the object feature is extracted from the picture data of the connecting connecting component previously stored in an area information storing part 14 based on the sample selected in the collating part 12, and an already assigned label is replaced with an unused label in an area extracting part 13. Thus, inaccurate processing for recognizing a pattern, etc., for the connecting component can be prevented. |
