PURPOSE:To obtain the subject novel particles having specific particle characteristics and excellent powder characteristics with hardly any deterioration in modification by introducing hydroxyl and/or amino groups into a polymer constituting the particles. CONSTITUTION:The objective particles, having hydroxyl groups and/or amino groups, 100-5000mum average particle diameter and 1-2 geometric standard deviation and <=20wt.% content of particles having <=100mum particle diameter. The above-mentioned particles are preferably obtained by normally bringing polyolefin particles having the aforementioned characteristics into contact with a hydroxyl group- and/or amino group-containing ethylenically unsaturated compounds in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator. Furthermore, 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, etc., are preferred as the hydroxyl group- containing ethylenically unsaturated compound and allylamine, etc., are preferred as the amino group-containing ethylenically unsaturated compound. |
