PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength between a gap spacer and a magnetic core, by forming a gap part of a head by constituting of a specific alloy and its diffusion layer. CONSTITUTION:A block shaped body 1 is made of Fe-Si-Al magnetic alloy ingot and gap opposing surfaces 2, 2' are polished to form a channel for wiring 3. A Cu-Be base alloy layer 5 having 1-2mum coating film is formed on the gap surface 2 by a plating method or by using a Cu-Be base alloy thin film. A pair of cores 1, 1' on which Cu-Be base alloy layers are formed, are brought into press- contact by a press-contacting device so as to oppose to each other, and are cooled to 600 deg.C at a rate of 0.1 deg.C per sec after heating at 800 deg.C for 5hr, and are cooled to the room temp. at a rate of 150 deg.C per sec, and then they are subjected to an aging treatment at 350 deg.C for 3hr, and afterward are cooled at a rate of 150 deg.C per sec. By this way, Cu and Be of the Cu-Be alloy layer 5 are made diffused and the mechanical strength between the core and the layer 5 is improved. |
