PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high sensitivity in a near infrared region by using a specified leuco dye and a specified color developer. CONSTITUTION:3-[4'-(4''-Phenylaminophenylamino)phenylamino]-6-methyl-7- chlorofluoran is used as a leuco dye, and bis (4-hydroxy-3-methylphenyl) sulfide is used as a color developer, in a thermal recording material. The thermal recording material thus obtained enables reading of records by a bar code reader using a semiconductor laser or the like, and has high color forming sensitivity and developed color density and excellent heat resistance. The color developer is added in an amount of ordinarily 0.5-10 pts.wt., preferably 0.1-5.0 pts.wt., per 1 pts.wt. of the leuco dye. |
