PURPOSE:To grind an aspheric surface without using any fly cutting system by controlling each position of an X-axis table, a Y-axis table, an A-axis swiveling table and a Z-axis slider, while controlling at least the X-axis table and the Z-axis slider for simultaneous biaxial cutting. CONSTITUTION:An X-axis table 15 clamping a workpiece W is installed in the central part of a bed 13 rectilinear-shiftably in the axial direction, a Y-axis slider 22 in an anchor block 20 on the bed 13 rectilinear-shiftably in the Y-axis direction, an A-axis swiveling table 26 on the Y-axis slider 22 rotatably in a vertical surface making an axis parallel with the X-axis direction of its rotational center, and an X-axis slider 31 with a cutting tool 36 in the front rectilinear-shiftably in the vertical direction, respectively. In addition, each position of these axes is controlled, and there is provided with a numerical control system which controls the X-axis table 15 and the Z-axis slider 31 for simultaneous biaxial cutting. With this constitution, data of a Z-axis position corresponding to an X-axis position at time of X, Z simultaneous Z-axis control are changed little by little at each locational position of both Y- and A-axes, whereby an aspheric curved surface is machinable. |
