PURPOSE:To roughen a surface of a photosensitive body uniformly in a short time by regulating a relative grinding velocity of an abrasive to a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body 1 provided with an org. photosensitive layer constituted of layers of a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer, etc., is revolved and ground while moving the photosensitive body 1 in a manner that a relative grinding velocity of a film abrasive to a contact surface of the photosensitive body 1 attains 1.0-5,000mm/sec. In this stage, the roughening result may be insufficient and ground parts leaving a minimum surface roughness below a desired value may be present if the relative grinding velocity is <1.0mm/sec. In this case, inversion of a cleaning blade, etc., may be caused. If the velocity exceeds 5,000mm/sec., the maximum surface roughness may increase, causing fear for generating image defect due to flaws. |
