PURPOSE:To easily replace a thermal head by largely separating the same from a platen by controlling the position of the thermal head to the platen by a rotary position controlling cam and a cam follower and providing a region where the cam follow is not brought into contact with the rotary position controlling cam in a sliding state. CONSTITUTION:The vicinity shown by a character D of the cam surface 9a of a cam 9 corresponds to a fourth region of the cam surface 9a. Since the fourth region of the cam surface 9a does not interfere with the locus of the slide part 8a of a cam follower 8, the cam follower 8, a frame 5 and a thermal head 1 are rotated in a clockwise direction by the energizing force of a spring 12 and brought into contact with a stopper such as the housing of a recording apparatus to stop. Since the space between the platen 2 and the thermal head is widely kept in this state, when the reparing/maintenance work of the recording apparatus, for example, the replacement of the thermal head 1 is performed, the damage to the platen 2 by a tool is extremely reduced. |
