PURPOSE:To easily manufacture the title magnet having high room temp. intrinsic coersive force by dispersing specific amounts of fine grains of a V-T-B phase compound (T denotes transition elements) into the grains of an R2Fe14B compound phase (R denotes rare earth elements) and subjecting the mixture to liquid phase sintering. CONSTITUTION:The fine grains of a V-T-B compound phase (T denotes Fe or transition metals essentially consisting of Fe) are uniformly and finely dispersed into the grains of an R2Fe14B compound phase (R denotes rare earth elements essentially consisting of Nd or Pr). The amt. of the V-T-B compound to be added is regulated to the one in which V becomes 2 to 6 at% in a sintered body. The dispersed mixture is then subjected to liquid phase sintering. In this way, the permanent magnet constituted of an Nd-Fe-B series sintered magnet in which B more than that in the stoichiometric compsn. of the above R2Fe14B compound does not substantially form an RFe4B4 phase and having high coercive force and less secular change in magnetic characteristics can economically be obtd. |
