PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical strength without any adverse effect on its low thermal expansion with thermal stability maintained by sintering a mixture of an aluminum titanate powder as a major component and auxiliaries such as Ta2O5. CONSTITUTION:TiO2 powder and Al2O3 powder, or aluminum titanate powder, a complex oxide thereof, is used as major component. Ta2O5 and/or WO3 are used as auxiliaries. They are mixed and the mixed powder is sintered. |
