摘要 PURPOSE: To control the movement of a control valve by using a comparatively small amount of electroviscous fluid by comprising a means for defining a variable volume chamber, filling the fluid chamber with a working fluid, and controlling the fluid current to a place where the fluid from the fluid chamber does not resit relative movement of the parts by a valve. CONSTITUTION: In a case of compression, for example, the working fluid in a first chamber 52 is flown to a passage way 74 and a second chamber 54 when the fluid pressure in the chamber 52 and a passageway 72 releases a valve member 86 from a face 94. By acting the member 86 against the pressure force of a spring 92, a specific damping ratio of a damper is generated. An electric rheology fluid control device 112 resists the movement from a close position of an auxiliary member 86 in a state that the force generated on the spring 92 is controllable. That is, when the voltage is added to the conductive plates 142, 144 mounted in the electric rheology fluid chamber 124, and the viscosity of the electric rheology fluid between the plates 142, 144 and a rod 146 is increased, the electric rheology fluid current flown therein is limited, whereby the device resists the movement of the member 86 by the fluid pressure from the chamber 52 and the passageway 72.
