PURPOSE:To judge a present page which can not be read by a method wherein when a page signal of a bankbook inserted in the case of dealing with the bankbook can not be read because of page folding, staining, etc., a previous page or a following page is read by turning over the page to confirm via a present page judging means. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a bar code recorded part of a bankbook 15 can not be read because of either folding or staining, the bankbook is once guided to a position of a page turning device 14, and a previous page or a following page is turned herein. This turned page surface is again guided to a position of an image sensor 13, and the bar code of the rolled up page surface is read. In that case, by reading the bar codes on both pages instead of either of previous or following pages, certainty may be achieved. When both bar codes at the specific positions of the previ ous and following pages cannot be read in this case, the bankbook is judged as a non-treatable bankbook of no bar code or the like, and is returned to a customer. Then, a present page of the bankbook 15 is confirmed from a positional relation between the previous and following pages. After completing confirmation of the page, specific transaction information is printed on the present page surface with a printer 16 in a latter step. |
