PURPOSE:To form a color picture having optional color and high resistance to discoloration on common paper by incorporating high molecular cholesteric liquid crystals which develop optional color by an external excitation as a primary component into a toner. CONSTITUTION:High molecular cholesteric liquid crystals which develop optional color by an external excitation are contained as a primary component in a toner. Any high molecular cholesteric liquid crystal may be usable so far as it develops optional color by an external excitation such as temp., electric field, magnetic field and/or surface effect, but, thermotropic high molecular cholesteric liquid crystals which develop optional color by the excitation of temp., namely by heat, is more preferred. The proportion of a thermoplastic resin to be used to the high molecular thermotropic cholesteric liquid crystal is 0-50wt.%, and an additive agent for controlling the polarity, etc., is used by 0-20wt.% based on the total amt. of the thermotropic cholesteric liquid crystal plus thermoplastic resin. Thus, a color picture having optional color and high resistance to discoloration can be formed on common paper. |
