PURPOSE:To adjust a distance of electrophoresis arbitrarily and to enable separate detection of charged substances being different slightly from each other by using a fitting unit for gel electrophoresis which holds an upper electrode bath through a support arm being slidable vertically. CONSTITUTION:A dish-shaped lower electrode bath 4 is provided on a support base 15 and this bath is divided radially by partition plates 5 around a shaft 3 erected in the central part of the bath 4. Divisions thus formed are employed as electrode chambers 7 being solution storage elements, while a positive electrode 6 is so provided as to pierce the outer periphery of each electrode 7. A support pole 2 is put on the outer periphery of the shaft 3, and a support arm 9 constituting a fitting unit 8 is fastened to a fixing element 11 while it is made slidable vertically on the pole. An upper electrode bath 10 having a negative electrode 12 is fitted to the fore end of the arm 9, and a plate 14 for gel electrophoresis formed of polyacrylamide gel held by two glass plates between is suspended from a fitting surface 13 on one side of the bath 10 toward each electrode chamber 7 to be employed. In this way, the plate for electrophoresis is made so small in size as not to occupy a wide area on an experiment stand, and thus it is made suitable for an apparatus for protein, gene, etc. |
